XL starts to operate commercially on 8 October 1996, and represent the first privat enterprise providing service phone the mobile in Indonesia.
XL have four product GSM, that is Bebas (prepaid), Jempol (prepaid), Xplor (post-paid), and newest Jimat (at first represent the service type for the Jempol of, but then developed to become the product by self more majored for the communications of out country). • Khazanah of National Berhad ( 16,81%), representing investment organization property of Government Malaysia
• PT Telekomindo Primabhakti ( 15,97%), representing subsidiary company of Rajawali Corporation, owning telecommunications business, hotel, consumer requirement, and ritel
• AIF (Indonesia) Limited (7, 38%), representing company of financing private sector which have station in Hong Kong.
